Two Individuals Accused In Connection With Heathrow Alleged Pepper Spray Attack
Formal charges have been brought against two men following a suitcase robbery where a suspected capsaicin spray resulted in harm at the UK's busiest airport.
Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, have both been charged with two counts of robbery and charges for using a harmful chemical, as confirmed by court officials.
The charges follow an probe of an assault at the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3 on the weekend. Before the assault occurred, two women were robbed of their luggage stolen after exiting a parking garage elevator, according to law enforcement.
A toddler was one of the people hurt during the incident. Several persons required hospital care and were later discharged.
The incident – which authorities stated was a standalone event and deemed non-terroristic – led to disruptions to rail services and the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 parking area for a limited duration.
