Tributes Continue for the Reiners as Medical Examiner's Findings Face a Security Hold.
Well beyond 14 days following the shocking loss of celebrated filmmaker Rob Reiner and his partner, photographer Michele Reiner, the entertainment community persist in remembering the duo.
‘Life is Pain Without You’: Cary Elwes Recalls His Director
Posting on Instagram, actor Cary Elwes, who was featured in Reiner's 1987 classic *The Princess Bride*, mentioned he finally felt ready to post publicly about his profound loss.
"Enough time has elapsed that I can finally put my grief into words," shared Elwes, adding that his initial encounter with Reiner left him smitten. "When we commenced passing more hours together I realized this was someone I longed to have in my life."
The actor uploaded archival material from the production, remarking that he doesn't recollect "one day without mirth".
"The movie is about love, loyalty and sacrifice. Principles that Rob valued immensely. Which is among the many reasons he was the ideal person to direct it," Elwes expressed.
He went on to praise Michele Reiner, stating: "Claiming that they were a formidable pair would be an understatement. My heart still hurts every time I think of you." He concluded with a quote from *The Princess Bride*: "Sure, death cannot stop true love but living is anguish without you."
Martin Scorsese Remembers a Fellow Artist
In a distinct tribute, revered director Martin Scorsese paid homage to Reiner, whom he originally knew in the 1970s.
"Immediately, I loved being with Rob. We had a natural affinity for each other. He was uproarious and sometimes bitingly funny, but he was never the kind of guy who would take over the room," Scorsese wrote.
Scorsese mentioned Reiner's acting part in his 2013 film *The Wolf of Wall Street*, playing the father of the lead role.
"He was skilled at improv with the best. He was a master at comedy, he worked seamlessly with the cast, and he grasped the personal struggle of his character," Scorsese added.
Court Proceedings: Autopsy Reports Sealed
In a new development, a Los Angeles superior court judge agreed to bar the disclosure of the Reiners' medical examiner's reports, following a petition from the LAPD.
A legal directive put a security hold on the cases to restrict the public release of "all case details, evidence and photographs" connected to the probe.
The Medical Examiner's office had earlier stated their deaths were the outcome of murder, with a official listing listing the cause as "wounds from an edged weapon".
Fallout and Commentary
Following the deaths, public individuals expressed divergent comments.
Ex-President Donald Trump posted on the matter, providing provocative remarks that were widely condemned by many individuals.
Podcaster Joe Rogan added his criticism to the those speaking out last week. Talking on his podcast, Rogan described the statements as "disturbing" and remarked they revealed a troubling deficiency of sympathy.
Rogan ended by remarking that an associate could have intervened when the decision to comment on the passing was made.
