The England midfielder Has to Eliminate the Petulance to Earn a Central Role In Manager Thomas Tuchel.

For Bellingham to hopes to earn his place once again into England’s strongest team, he would be wise to eliminate the dramatics. His reaction after noticing that his number was about to come up following a night of inconsistency in Tirana was not good enough.

"I’d rather not make more out of it but I stand by my words 'attitude matters' and respect towards the teammates who enter the game," commented the coach. "Decisions are made and you must accept them being a professional."

The midfielder must understand. There was no need for a strop. Harry Kane had recently scored to make the Three Lions leading by two in an inconsequential match, there were six minutes left and he, following an inconsistent display, received a caution for bringing down the Albanian striker. This could scarcely be called a debatable decision. In fact it would have been unwise for the manager to keep Bellingham on the pitch because there was a chance he would rule himself out of the opening game of the tournament by receiving a second yellow card.

Drawing Attention on Himself

However, the player drew all eyes toward himself. It was impossible to miss the 22-year-old’s frustration upon understanding that he was going to make way for another player. He flung his arms in the air and even though he accepted the coach's hand after making his way to the touchline it was obvious that Tuchel was not impressed.

Here lies the test facing Bellingham. He praised Rashford for sending in the ball for Kane to score his second of the night, but everything else was harmful to his cause. It is not as if protesting was going to change Tuchel’s mind. The German has repeatedly emphasized respecting team hierarchies and the importance of behaving correctly.

Facing Examination

Bellingham, omitted from the previous squad, is being watched carefully since coming back to the fold this month. Essentially he has been on trial and he has not done himself any favours by reacting to coming off the pitch as England wrapped up a flawless qualification run by seeing off a tough opposition from the Albanian team.

The System and the Setup

This implies it's unclear on how England operate most effectively including Bellingham. The performance was inconclusive. Some new ideas were tested from Tuchel early on. Under him, England have gained the team organization and direction in recent months, employing a No 6, a box-to-box player, an attacking midfielder and out-and-out wingers, but there was a different feel versus Albania. Jarell Quansah was made his England debut, Adam Wharton was in the starting lineup at this level and the role of Stones as a makeshift midfielder created a faint echo to the Manchester club's team that won three trophies.

Inconsistent Display

His performance was inconsistent. He set up a shot for his teammate in the latter period but often looked too desperate to impress. There were a lot of rushed, misplaced passes. An unnecessary confrontation with a rival player in the early stages. England's play was messy for much of the second half. One Albania chance followed Bellingham gave the ball away. His booking came after he lost the ball to Broja and committed a foul on Broja.

Squad Strength Shows

Ultimately England’s depth was decisive. The coach brought on the Manchester City player, who looked more comfortable to the position that Bellingham had played earlier in the match, and Bukayo Saka. Later Saka delivered a set-piece for the captain to open the scoring. It was a reminder that dead-ball situations will play a key role next summer.

Bridge Still Stands

Still, though, Bellingham was the story. The excellence of Rashford’s assist for Kane’s header was partly forgotten due to the fuss of the Rogers substitution. When the match concluded, all eyes were on him. Tuchel came over to his side and guided the Real Madrid midfielder to acknowledge the English fans. Their relationship is not damaged. Tuchel is not willing to abandon him at this stage. However, whether he is willing to offer him a starring role is still uncertain.
