Anthony Joshua Released from Hospital in Nigeria Following Deadly Road Accident

Former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has been released from care, officials in Lagos stated on late Wednesday. The athlete was caught in a vehicular crash outside Lagos on the 29th of December, a horrific crash that resulted in the deaths of two of his valued colleagues.

Recovering from Minor Injuries

Joshua had been under observation while recuperating from non-critical injuries, representatives confirmed on Monday. A government official, Gbenga Omotoso, said in a statement on social media that Joshua was declared medically stable to continue his recovery at home.

“The boxer and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to say their last goodbyes to his two friends who passed away as they were being readied to be sent home,” the official remarked.

Remembering the Victims

The two men who died were identified as Latif Ayodele, a personal trainer, and Sina Ghami, a conditioning specialist. The official further stated that the champion was filled with sorrow and deeply emotional over the passing of his two close friends.”
